Another Mother Moment
This morning I awoke feeling very overwhelmed by all the things that I needed to get accomplished. There was not a lot on the list but, the things that had to be done were going to take longer because of my three little helpers. Putting together a mental list while I fed, bathed, dressed, and groomed the children, I will be the first to admit that I was distracted. While I showered I marked off of my mental list the things that I felt could wait till another day. Feeling better as I dressed and groomed my self I walked out of my room to check on the kids. As soon has I saw Reese, completely wet from the waist down, I felt again overwhelmed with everything. Immediately I yelled at Lance, "What did you do to Reese." He responded, "I didn't do anything." Me:"Then why is she all wet." Lance: "I don't know, maybe she peed." Me: "That is not pee, I just put a new diaper on her less than a hour ago." Frustrated by the new development I proceeded to the room to change her wet pants. While I striped her down I realized the mistake: I NEVER EVEN PUT A DIAPER ON HER. As a mother I have never done that. Putting a diaper on a baby is the first thing that you do when dressing them. I still can't figure it out, I guess I will just have to chalk it up to another mothering moment.
