What do you do when a child is just to stubborn to lay down and take a nap. You let them go go go until they drop and then you take a picture.
After Reese decided that she could climb out of her crib, we knew that is was time to reconsider the current sleeping arrangements. So we decide to make use of the bunk beds that sister Shaunna Sue gave us years ago. Once the beds were together, mom and dad let us have an unwanted twin mattress, and I made a trip to IKEA for bedding, the girls were set. It takes a little more work and a little longer to get the girls to bed but they do love their new sleeping arrangements.
I made the whole move sound a lot easier than it actually was. The switching of beds meant that we took Claire's bed and gave it to Lance. Moved Lance's bed into Claire's room, rearrange the furniture, vacuumed, moved pictures, etc... but with all said and done.....
Lance is now sleeping like a king in his new bigger big boy bed. He is still a little miffed because he was slighted out of sleeping in a bunk bed. He thinks that it is unfair that Claire gets to sleep in a bunk bed and he does not. We told him that to make up for it he could stay up 15 min later than his sisters. He has never made it a full 15 min. In fact most nights he is the first child asleep.
When we tried to put Reese down for a nap the next day we found this outside her door. I guess she was trying to escape one piece at a time or trying to remind us kindly that we had left her in her room to long. That is the unfortunate side effect of this new situation. Gone are the days of nap time. Sure there is still the rare occasion that we can convince Reese to nap, but it is not a daily occurrence.
So it has been such a long time since I blogged last. I have so many entries floating around in both my head and my camera. So I will do today what I can.
