November 13th 2010 Brittin takes out her Endowments

In preparation for her blissful day, we traveled 3 hours to the Albuquerque NM temple so that Brittin could take out her endowments.
It was a wonderful and memorable day. I am so glad that I could be there, and that Anjeanette's girls were willing to watch Reese and Claire for the 9 hours that we were gone.
Grandma and Grandpa Gifford, Joel and Anjeanette Anderson, Troy and the soon to be Brittin Reynolds.

I think we all have the same haircut. It really doesn't look like it in real life however. No matter we are real cute.
We celebrated by going out to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse. Annie's birthday was coming soon so we had the sing her happy birthday. They made her sit on a saddle and wear this giant foam cowboy hat.

What a cute couple married 51 years.

Trip to Colorado Nov 2010

We recently made the journey to Manassa Colorado for my niece Brittin's wedding. It is a nine hour trip made longer by many bathroom stops, so we left at 5:30 in the morning. The girls were thrilled to be traveling with Grandpa and Grandma Gifford and Aunt Shaunna. Excited also by the fact that Grandpa's car has a built in DVD player. They traveled well. Besides the frequent asking of "Are we there yet?" they were a joy to have in the car.

New Sunday Digs Nov. 7th 2010

The Traditional Family Photo.
With Brittin's wedding coming up, I needed no excuse to get back to my sewing machine. I have been envisioning these skirts in my head for sometime now and needed some reason to make them. Well I think that they turned out adorable. I wish that you could see the flowers on the skirts better in this picture, but they were just all so cute and very well behaved in church today. Oh and might I add: I declare Reese potty trained. She has not had an accident it a week. I love that girl.

No David! Nov.4th 2010

It seems like there has been quite a bit of talk on this blog about Reese lately. Not that we don't have two other kids, it is just that she has been on a roll lately. She has all of us (Lance and Claire included) in stitches most of the time. Here is her reading us the book "NO, DAVID" by David Shannon.

So after many hours of trying to load the video it just didn't work. You all will just have to take my word for it that it was hilarious and adorable. You can find it on my facebook page too, under videos. It really is worth the look.

Potty Trianing Reese.

I caved. For many months (like 7) now Reese has been begging for me to potty train her. She has told me that she need to go potty and I would remind her that she was wearing a diaper and had no need to use the toilet. Potty training is the one thing about being a mother that I HATE!!! Well the day after she turned three seem as good as day as any to start the process. So slave to the timer, Reese goes potty on the toilet every time it beeps. She is doing well. Only a few accidents, all of them wet, none of them brown. She at least has that part of it down. Cross your fingers that she will be a quick learner and we will be through the worst of it soon. From the look of her in this picture she is thrilled, and I must admit on some level I am too, cause this will be the last time I have to do this. Go Reese, we really are very proud of you.

Halloween 2010

HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM THE BAILEY HOUSE!!!!
Reese was Belle (from Beauty and the Beast). Claire was Abby Caddaby (from sesame street) And Lance was Avatar the Last Air bender.

Right after these pictures were taken it began to sleet. The weather was so iffy all day that we had made plans for a small Halloween party with the Hickman's just in case the kids could not go "Trick or Treating".
We had spooky spider seven layer dip. Eyeball deviled eggs
Jello ghosts, witch's brew and Twinkie mummies, with a side of eyeballs sandwiches for dinner.
My favorite little man Chase. (He was a dragon)
Even if the night ended with no ones candy buckets being filled, at least our tummies were full of yummy food.
It was a great "little party". And in the end the weather let up and the kids got to go trick or treating after all. We had a great Halloween, hope you all did too.

A Visit From Abe and Henry Oct. 29th 2010

Abe and Lance showing off the tattoo's.
We don't get to see many cousins from the Bailey side of the family very often anymore since everyone has moved away from Utah, so when they do come for a visit it is always something that the kids look forward too. This week Abe and Henry came to spend the night. Everyone played until way to late in the night, but they had such a good time together we hated to put them to sleep.

Miss Pothier's Class Halloween Party 2010

Lance's school holds a Halloween Costume Parade every year. This year after the Parade, his class did a small performance of Halloween songs and poems that they had learned in class. After wards the kids were invited to show their parents and siblings around the class room. Lance showed his sisters his desk, the computers, and the many Halloween books in the reading corner and even took the time to read them his favorite one. It was so cute.

Reese's 3rd birthday Oct. 25th 2010

She wanted me to take a picture of her on her last day of being 2. She was wondering if she would look any different when she turned 3.
Does she look any different? This was breakfast at the table because she wouldn't stay in bed long enough for us to bring it to her. She really wanted to see her cake.
When she finally saw her cake and balloons she wanted the rest of the house decorated too.
All through lunch she kept coming back to sit on Ronald's lap. I wonder if she thought he was real. Silent and still but somehow real.

I love her face here. She was so excited about this gift. I am afraid I am going to have to stuff some cotton in my ears really soon.

Performing for dad.
Great Shot of the "Blow and make a wish" part of her day.

Three years ago today Reese joined us in our journey through life. One thing that she brought with her was plenty of excitement. She is a bright girl, nothing gets by her. Last night she asked me to take a picture of her so she could see if she would look any different when she turned three. SHE IS THREE, what three year old thinks like that. This morning when she woke up she demanded to see her cake. When she saw her balloons she insisted that I decorate the rest of the house. While driving to McDonald's for a birthday lunch she was singing "Happy Birthday to Me." All day long she kept asking for her presents. When Dad got home and we finally had a chance to open them her reaction to her movie was: "We have this one." Meaning she has seen it. When she opened her Rosetta doll from Lance she said: "This is for you Claire." I guess she thinks all baby dolls are hers and all "Barbie" type dolls are Claire's. However when she opened her keyboard the world stopped and it was "MINE!!!" When dad rolled in her scooter that too was "MINE!!" Somehow she no longer had enough time or hands to play with all of her new toys. It took about an hour before she was willing to let anyone touch any of her gifts. Alicia came to the rescue when she brought over a gift of matching outfits for the girls and a book for Lance. Some how she knew that a three year old Reese would not be willing to share. The best part came when she choreographed the cake part of her birthday. It went just like this. "Dad put fire on the cake." "Now everyone sing Happy Birthday." "Now I blow and make a wish." It was a great day. One I hope that she remembers all year long.

Year's Funniest Comment Oct 20th 2010

We are walking through Wal-Mart today and Claire out of the blue asks me "Mom, if you add water to boogers does it make snot?" I really hope that she wasn't thinking "Ummm, I wonder if I eat this booger if it will turn into snot in my tummy and then come out my nose." I hope she wasn't thinking that but I know that she probably was.

Sick day!!!! Oct. 17th 2010

Today was a sick day. Lance and Reese with coughs and running noses and Claire walking around doing a very convincing imitation of a sick child. Though she was not ill she was the one that acted the most like she was. She is very good at being sick. The other day she decided that she was not feeling well. She had a hearty appetite and was not hot, cold, sneeze, runny, or any other way ill, but still she refused to get dressed and whenever she was asked to do something she quickly retreated to the sanctuary of her bed. So with two sick children and one pretending to be, Zack volunteered to stay at home with the kids while I went to church. They literally watched movies all day long. For history the play list was as follows: Kung Fu Panda, Monster Vs Aliens, Cloudy with that Chance of Meatballs, Madagascar, Madagascar 2, and Beauty and the Beast.

Does it run in the Genes? Oct. 10 2010

So I know that there are previous post on this blog that contain very similar pictures. One of Lance and one of Claire under their three wheelers. Here we have Reese struggling to fix her doll stroller. The best is that she laid there and kept saying "Hand me a tool. Hand me another tool" It was so very cute. It must be something in my children's genetic make up. Either that, or this is what they see their father doing most.

Springcreek Fun Run Oct 9th 2010

Lance and Zack.
Look out Dad is pulling ahead.
Go Zack all that gym time is paying off.
While the boys ran the girls played.
They enjoyed themselves.
Bye!!

I couldn't make it to this years fun run cause I was running a shopping marathon at the time. So Zack ran with Lance while Grandpa tended the girls and manned the camera. If I could not be there at least I wanted pictures to blog. The boys managed to run most of the way. I am sure that Zack would of ran the whole thing had he not stop to wait for Lance to catch up. They both get an A+ in my book just for trying. And thanks grandpa for being both photographer and babysitter during the whole thing.
