Who knew that with a set of wheels came a sense of independence and freedom. One Saturday morning I made the comment to Lance that it was now summer and wouldn't it be nice if he could spend the summer riding his two wheeler around the neighborhood with all of his friends. Well that was the day. Soon after breakfast Lance and Zack were in the front yard working on "learning" to ride a bike. Within about 20 min he was off and riding. He was outside all that day and the next and since then. Lance is discovering that there are people that live in the houses not on our street. There are new friend to be made right up the street, past the purple tree. There is no need to be inside when the sun is shinning (and even if it isn't). He as grown up instantly. I thought that that kind of freedom came to a young man when they turned 16, got a license and could finally drive a car, but apparently I was wrong. Freedom comes with any set of wheels, be is two, three, or four. Sure has made my summer a little easier so far.
