The Provo Tabernacle burnt down on December 17th 2010. I have to admit that the first thought that crossed my mind was: "Hurray, no more stake conferences in that cramped hot building." Though later as we walked around the building and watched it burn I was sad to see the end of an era. The kids were also very sad. They kept saying how sad they were to see such a sacred building being burnt. It is amazing even at their age they could feel the significance of the building in not only Provo's history but the history of the Church in this area. I hope that they choose to restore it. The Provo Tabernacle is a great part of what Provo downtown is, and I would be see sad to see that change.
